According to Caribbean poker rules, the game starts with each player placing an ante bet prior to the dealer announcing "No more bets". Caribbean poker rules mention that in order to participate at the progressive jackpot, the player must also put a side bet. All the bets being placed, each player is dealt 5 cards, face down. If the dealer doesn't qualify, the player still in the game wins the ante and your call bet is returned. If the dealer does qualify, then the player's and dealer's hands are compared and the highest wins (applying normal poker rankings).If dealer's hand wins, the player loses both the ante and raise. Caribbean poker rules mention that If the player's hand wins, he wins even money on the ante, and gets odds on the additional wager according to the payoff table.
